So last night my family totally blew up. My husband and brother got into an argument that ended in fists thrown. In the middle of this my mom comes downstairs and gets involved and gets pushed during the fight. She starts screaming at my husband calling him lazy and worthless because he she thinks he doesn't do anything around the house. Then he screams back at her calling her names and my brother is ready to punch him again until my husband storms out and threatens to leave. I spent two hours talking him out of leaving while he was threatening to kill himself if I didn't wake our son up and come with him. I knew he was full of crap so I didn't call the cops. I finally convinced him to come back inside and we'd leave in the morning (we have nowhere else to go btw).

Thankfully cooler heads prevailed this morning and everyone apologized.

Even better, I did not hurt myself or fail to control my rage (of hich I had a lot over the stupidity of it all). I was actually the sane one in the whole mess.

Ugh I guess I'm not the only crazy person and yet I'm the one in partial hospital. Seriously. I just hope this tension doesn't continue. I won't be able to hold it together much more and we can't move out until I start work again.

Just yay for me for keeping my head through the madness.

Oh, boy, do you and your husband need to get out of that family! Whew! I hope
you're able to go back to work soon. And, yes, you sound very much like the mature
one in the family.

Good on you for being the coolest head in the room! I can promise you that a lot of us out here wouldn't have handled as well as you did. Congrats!
