Are boredom levels higher in those with bipolar? Cause I sure have been bored out of my mind, its like I cant keep myself occupied with things, I get bored faster.

I don't know if it's really bipolar or not, but I know when I'm depressed I get bored because I can't get the motivation up to do things that I like - and I don't like them as much when I'm depressed anyway. When I'm in an UP I get bored quickly because my brain is all over the place and I can't focus on just the one thing.

I rarely get bored, and generally I welcome boredom as a respite from the busy schedule of being a teacher and a mom. When I am on the "up" end of things, I do get restless. It's not really boredom, but is more an excess of nervous energy.

I get sooooo bored when I am hypo because I can't figure out what to do wih all my energy. Like right now I'm on the forum because I already physically wore my body out but my brain won't shut up.

I don't think so, or not directly related anyway.

I really never get bored. I'm good at distracting myself --endless supply of films, books, etc.

I'm the same as Panda, getting so bored when down and I don't know what to do. Even when I could think of something to do, I don't do it because I am so depressed...like I am now Coming here always helps a bit, though

I am rarely, if ever bored. When I'm manic, I'm always up to something, even if it's doing 50 things at once and not finishing any of them. And when I'm depressed, I usually write or lose myself in some sad music. But bored? Don't think so.

BPNurse: ha! I get up to 50 things or so at once too... sometimes it's because I'm just so excited to be doing ALL OF IT that I can't stop... and sometimes it's because I get bored with each thing after two minutes and go "NEXT!!!!". haha.

I don't get bored while depressed. When I am down there are so many things that are flooding their way in and I easily get overwhelmed, not to mention the anxiety that comes with it. Nope, not while depressed.

When hypo... I get so restless. It's like everything gets in my way of doing the things that I want and feel I need to do. I don't get up to fifty, but I would say around 25 or so.

Now.. I get bored when I am symptom free. With no mind chatter time seems to go by a lot slower. I am only half motivated to get stuff done when symptom free.. so I have to choose my objectives carefully.

When i'm depressed i just want to sleep and i have no interest in doing anything, when i'm manic i have way to much going on, and i'm often psychotic and too involved in who might be following me or whats implanted in my brain. Now, however, I'm stable, and i'm bored to tears. i should be working but i have no impetus.

I never get bored when depressed like I am now, I just don't have the energy to care one way or another.
