this is so ridiculous, i am just ranting at this moment so early in the day anyway i was watching an episode of the glades ( rare) i hardly have the patience to go through a whole episode of anything, and one character says oh this person is taking lithium what is lithium? the other character says that its for manic depression and in bipolar people and if they go off thier meds they suddenly turn violent, what kind of %$#@ is that, i am tempted to email the station about that episode and refer them to learn about bipolar and lithium before making statements like that, true that it could happen but just because you stopped your lithium for 2 days as suggested in this episode and the only illness you have is bipolar is certainly not going to turn you violent and homicidal provided that its your only illness and nothing else was going on or no major triggers were involved even then it would be speculation

Ummm. Take a deep breath and count to ten.

If you're looking for something to be pissed off about, television is definitely the place to find it. You said you rarely make it through an episode of anything. I'll bet this is not the only time it has upset you. I would recommend staying away from it altogether.
Thanks for this!

The media could be so helpful if it would get it's facts straight, but the go for ratings instead. It can be very upsetting. Know that not everyone out there is as knowledgeable as we are.

I was watching a crime drama and there was a witness. Someone asks" aren't you on Geodon ?" (anti psychotic). the officer says" we can't use him as a witness, he's crazy"

What a ridiculous thing to say! Just shows their ignorance! Try not to be upset by it...

The show Rookie Blue has a character that's bipolar. She dropped her medication once but no one else knows she's bipolar so it's there but it's not a huge crazy thing. She's seen her psychiatrist a couple times but it's not like OMG she's evil and out of control because she's bipolar. Hopefully they don't screw her up by making her stereotypically crazy.

I honestly don't care if TV gets anything about Bipolar or any other mental illness right in general. They jack up enough medical problems with false info on TV daily .. Why should Bipolar be any different?

Tv = Meh
