New pdoc thinks there's a chance I could've been fine (and not gotten that rash on Lamictal @200mg) if I'd not gone so high on the dose. He said a therapeutic dose is 100-300mg and I could've stopped at 100mg but I had no doc then to tell me that. So now I'm at 100mg of Topamax & holding and going to try Lamictal again because it did work before, but just stop at 100mg. I'm on my 2nd week at 25mg and then will go to 50mg for 2weeks then to 100. By the time I see this new pdoc (which I really like) again I will have been on the Topamax & Lamictal combo with Lamictal at 100 for 3weeks. I like that he's giving my brain and body a rest from the APs. He said if this doesn't help, our back up plan is Latuda. Anyone familiar with that? He increased my Klonopin to 1mg 2x PRN &added Restoril (Temazepam) for sleep but it doesn't seem to help much.

I've been on topomax for a few months now. But just yesterday my pdoc started taking me off my lithium and putting me on lamictal. But he is also keeping me on my AP to keep the mania at bay . Best of luck to us!!!

Glad to hear from you HQ. I'm glad you found a pdoc you like! I know it's been a rough journey in pdoc land for you. I hope the topomax and lamictal work for you. I was on lamictal once before but it didn't do anything for me. Then again I had much bigger problems at the time so I didn't expect it to work.

I liked topamax, weight was fine and I was connected with the universe. Not sure what happened but one day it messed up my memory. I couldn't reach into my database. Perhaps I did something wrong. Didn't take it as I was supposed to or who knows, but I have sweet memories of being on it.
