Ok. Side effect of saphris. I went to bed last night at a hotel around 130am and needed to get up at 5. I took my little 5 mg saphris and set 3 alarms and went to bed. In the morning I didn't wake up to the alarms and actually spoke to my son's gf on the phone in an apparently comatose state.
I was almost late for my son's parachute jump and promotion ceremony. My son and his gf had to come in the room and physically wake me up at 545. I was awake at that point but. do you suppose it was just too much to ask that I could wake up with that little amount of sleep with an AP on board or do you think its the AP? Scary to think what else could I do in my sleep. My phone was even on a setting I had never used before from when I had spoken to the gf. I need my sleep but still. I don't need to be comatose at night either. |

this would not be an issue apart from the extra pressure. break it down there is shame and there is over-responsibility. and here is the kicker! Amy you are loved likely more than you allow! friends and family are beyond our control proving we are in pain because we love them but they don't see it unless we suffer? not cool! ![]() |

I was on Saphris for a little over a year. It was pretty sedating. I also used to have bizarre dreams. I never had trouble getting up when I needed to, but I also made sure I got into bed early enough to get up whenever I needed to. Trying to work on 3 1/2 hours of sleep on any antipsychotic is asking a lot.
Saphris ain't got nothin' on Seroquel when it comes to being comatose. ![]()

It wasn't on purpose that I took it so late, I had to travel 4 hours to another city for my son's ceremony and the girl that was driving had us going late in the evening so we didn't arrive at the hotel until 1230am and we still needed to get up at 5am. I debated taking the med...on one hand could I get up, on the other hand, do I want to be sick? tough call. (I"m pretty strict with my meds.) I managed. but yeah, I probably should have skipped it and taken it for the 4 hour ride back home today. Lesson learned.
I was on seroquel before the saphris, at this point I don't really remember how different they are. I've been told when I take saphris all I do is think the word sleep and I'm out like a light. I do remember being a slug in the daytime though with seroquel ![]() |
