What do your manic/hypo-manic sleep patterns look like? I've found I'll got 3-5 days on minimal sleep, then all of a sudden I feel like I want to sleep 1000 lifetimes. I get one night of decent sleep and then I start it all over again until I crash into a depressive cycle.

I'll sleep only a few hours every night then it will escalate into not sleeping for several days in a row

I will always sleep - but it won't be for long. When I'm hypomanic I'll stay awake hours later than normal, and I will sleep a lot less than normal. I will probably wake up hours early and be too wired to fall back asleep. I'll stay in that pattern for probably a few weeks. Then I will either crash down, or have a few nights where I might recharge a bit and then keep on going. USUALLY I have a few days where I crash and then I go back to normal, or I go into a depression.

Sleep is a weird thing for me. Even my pdoc and t don't understand my sleep patterns. If I get 3 to 4 hours a night, I stay pretty normal. Well, at least normal for me. But if I start sleeping more than 5 hours a night, for several nights, it will trigger a depressive episode. Now, when I'm starting to get hypo, I'll get may 1 or 2 hours of sleep, usually interrupted w/ majorly weird dreams. I have gone several days w/ no sleep, which is never good.

I am the same way, it's so annoying! Right now I want to sleep constantly. There isn't much of an in-between anymore.

I wish I knew. I am baseline to slightly hypo right now, but I'm on Seroquel. Lately I've been waking up around 3 or 4. I go to bed somewhere between 11 and midnight. After I wake up, I go back to sleep until 8 or so. I figure that's due to the Seroquel. When I was just baseline, I was sleeping straight through for 9 or more hours. This morning I woke up at three because there were voices and people walking around in the hall outside my bedroom. I have been alone in my house for two weeks. I can't tell whether waking up is because I am hypomanic or because I am becoming psychotic.

I sleep 2 - 4 hours a night when I am hypo. I know how important it is for me to stay in a regular sleep routine. Its hard to force myself to go to bed when I am wide awake but I know I have to. If I find I am getting higher then I take PRN until the mood change.

Sleep, what sleep?

But seriously, I have a similar hypo sleep schedule to you. Except when it gets really bad and I think I have the superpower to stay awake all night with no negative repercussions... yeah...

Last week. I went 6 days on 7.5 hours of sleep. I wasn't tired either. Then on Sunday I crashed. I also tried to buy a horse.
