Been out of work now 52 weeks under treatment, im still stugeling with my symtoms(bipolar2) i have rapid cycles with my depression lasting longer. Im not ready to go back to work, my insurance asked me for a letter from my psychiatryst confirming that im still not able to work, her letter stated that i saw her in august for medication management and that i also have been participating in group therapy and that i have not been attending my individual therapy for the past 3 appintments and that i say im not ready to go back to work, with this statenent mt long term disability canceled me because i
No longer quality for it.
All this is truth
But theres an explanation for the missed appointments my psychiatrist never asked about that in our last session
I dont know how to feel about this, please help!!

I'm sure your missing your last 3 appointments didn't matter. There must be a limit on what you can earn. Sorry you're dealing with this.

Hi. Could it be that your long term disability was terminated because coverage is limited to one year. Maybe the missed appointments did not result in the termination. If your company was providing health insurance benefits, you need to find out whether you are covered. If not you may want to look into COBRA coverage at least until Jan. 1. You may want to talk to your pdoc and ask her to relay your reasons for not attending the individual sessions to your employer.

I have to say your psychiatrist seems quite dismissive of your symptoms. That letter reads like she feels you are hindering your own progress and that she feels you can work. I would have a serious conversation to see her actual feelings about your recovery.

Insurance companies are nothing but for profit businesses and they don't give a rats @ss about the well being of anyone. Their bottom line is profit. It is a shame that insurance companies are so skimpy on mental health issues. It should be taken just as seriously as any illness. But even in medical illnesses we see the same skimpy coverage from the insurance companies. They need to be held accountable for their shady practices. They make a ton of profit, but they do so by being as stingy as they can be. They honestly make me sick with disgust.
