It has been a few months since my Bipolar II, with mixed episodes diagnosis. And finally this week, I am starting to feel "normal" again. After a bad reaction(skin crawling, unbelievably itchy skin, intense horrific dreams/nightmares) to Lamictal, I am on a new anticonvulsant, a generic form of Depakote, and I finally feel calm. I am realizing that I have always struggled with bipolar, even as a pre-adolescent. However the past few years have been particularly hard to get through, as I have been majorly depressed, with MANY mixed episodes.

I feel that the fog is finally starting to clear from my mind, and that I am living in the present moment for the first time in over two years. I feel awake, and calm. I hope this is the result from therapy and the right medication, and I hope that it lasts. I wish it would last forever.

Glad to hear that! I've never had any side affects like that...must have been horrible! I was on depakote before and I didn't have any side affects. The only downside I found was that you have to have bloodwork done every few months to check your levels.

I hope things continue in your favor!

Yes it is wonderful to feel stable. For the first time in years, I just feel stable. Life seems easier. I am not as persuaded by my moods, I do not feel like my mind is a prisoner to my emotions.
