I'm been responding pretty well to Lamictal. Yesterday, they doubled my dosage. How long until I will any any improvement? Also, what will happen if I am over medicated?

Thanks!

I think the pdoc is going to up my dose too. So far the 50mg doesn't seem to be working.

I am on 150 mg lamictal, I don't think you will feel overmedicated on 100 mg lamictal. I think usually its the APs that make folks feel overmedicated.

I hit 150mg and Pdoc and I decided to just sit there and wait.. It was the right dose for me. I do know some people that are on 300-400mg .. It varies.

I'm on 250mg. I started seeing improvement at 150mg and then was stable(ish) on 200mg for about 8 months. I've been on the 250mg for over a year now, and have been doing well. My pdoc said anything up to 400mg is not unusual.

I am at 125 heading for 200. I can already tell the difference. I feel less flat. I started at 25.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I think I'm just being paranoid because I weigh very little and don't want to feel numb or have reduced productivity. I went to a funeral this week. I cried. I never try because typically I'm too numb to cry. I think it's helping me feel sadness in a healthy way.

Nah, it likely won't have that affect on you. The only thing I noticed when I was on it is that I wouldn't be able to find the right words. Like, we went on vacation and saw a beaver walking down the road. I couldn't think of the word "beaver". I though dog, cat, rodent, but not beaver. It wasn't so bothersome that I would stop taking it. Just watch out for the rash as well.

I am now on 300mg. I started very low like you are supposed. Going from 50 to 100 seems like a lot but it really isn't, from my experience I gained a lot of benefits once I was at 100 and was approaching 200. I was on 200 for a couple years. Then without me noticing I began feeling manic....very gradually went higer and higher, started an emotional affair, it was a mess.

Where I live there are not many resources for mental illness patients. Right when I started crashing I found a doc, just in the nick of time. I was getting out of control, being really sneaky about seeing my "boyfriend," spending money, etc. I was at 250, after all this I am at 300. I hear this is high. I tried adding abilify to my 250, but that was a disaster.

I don't know where I am going with this, sorry....

Also the trouble with word recall affected me too at first, occasionally I have this trouble, but now it is mostly gone.
Thanks for this!

I am really so excited to start this drug. I see pdoc on Tuesday and think she's finally going to start me on it (we had to wait until I had weaned enough off of effexor). I'm so, so, so excited to maybe start feeling okay.

I'm currently titrating up to 200mg lamictal where my pdoc plans to hold me for the time being. I honestly never notice any side effects of lamictal, and since he's using it preventatively at this point, it isn't really "doing" much but hopefully keeping me from cycling. In the past I was on 375mg, also with no side effects, so I'm not particularly worried about it.

I have been on it for 3 years. I'm at the max dose 400 mg now and have been for 2.5 years. I felt on top of the world for awhile but became depressed so my pdoc put me on zoloft at a high dose. I suffered a breakdown and wound up in the psychward 2 years ago. Since then i have been on only the lamotrigine 400 mg and have had only moderate depression from time to time but it doesn't last for long. It gets bad for me in the winter as I have no work outside the house. So I'm trying to figure out what to do to curb what I know is coming back my way
