My daddy had a heart attack Tuesday night and has been in ICU since. He is still touch and go with a possibility of dialysis ahead because of his kidney function.

It occurred to me last night that not one of my "friends" called to check on him, me or my family in general.
I am extremely pi**ed off and hurt and maybe I am being irrational, not sure.
One of these "friends" I work with and she actually even owes my parents money which she is paying back but if you are my friend, where is my phone call?
The other has been my BFF for 20 years. We have been tight since High School.
I gave her 20 dollars the other day so that she could keep her phone on and she didn't call yesterday and that bothers me. True, I am in no mood to talk but a quick call to check in on everyone would be nice.
I don't feel that I should HAVE to call and keep everyone informed. I have enough on my plate.
So....am I being overly sensitive or overly upset??

i'm sorry to hear about your daddy. do let us know how he is doing.

as for your situation, i think if that was me... i'd probably be thinking to myself- well, are these friends actually real friends?. when something happens to your family and they don't care... are they really their for you?

no i don't think you're over reacting at all
Thanks for this!
