I'm curious if I'm the only one or it's a placebo effect.

I found geodon and seroquel to limit suicidal thoughts for me.

I'm on Abilify and I still get them when my depression gets bad.

AP's (geodon/zeldox) have definitely helped my suicidal thoughts. Of course I still get them from time to time (at that time of the month/PMDD) but the rest of the time they work for me pretty well. I also use seroquel PRN and that has stopped suicidal thoughts in their tracks.

Come to think of it, I haven't had suicidal thoughts in months, even during that situational depression I went through after my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Never thought it might be due to my AP, but no matter what the reason, I'm grateful not to have those thoughts. I learn something new every day!

Ummm, maybe, sometimes.... Intrusive thoughts ( suicide) can cause them and there is no medication in the world that will stop them ... That is when Therapy, self grounding, mindfulness and self care is the most helpful

In my experience risperidone actually causes or worsens suicidal thoughts. A lot of people on another forum I used to post on said this happened to them as well.
