What are some of yours? Or, music that you listened to uncharacteristically while manic?

Some of mine have been: When I was young while depressed, Pink Floyd the wall (especially the judge and goodbye cruel world), Fuel (the Sunburn album--I would pretend the songs about crazy girls were about me), now that I am older, I listen to Patty Griffin or try to listen to christian music.

When I was young while manic, I would listen to Ani Difranco and get so politically charged. Now that I am older, I would not typically listen to Ani Difranco because I no longer agree with much that she stands for and outgrew her but, when manic, I become her biggest fan again. Also, when hyper-religious, I have fixated on praise music, usually just one song and I start singing with a passion unreachable and sometimes even singing in public loudly.

I also start to believe that every song I hear is about me and that no one else truly understands the lyrics like I do. It's comical when I'm in my right mind.

I call them the soundtrack to my madness but My Chemical Romance is what I listened to when I first became sick and my theme song to fighting bp is one of their songs called 'its not a fashion statement, its a deathwish'....in particular, the statement, 'I'm taking back the life you stole'.
