I'm rapid cycling and managed to get a psych doc appt for next monday. The thing is, I don't think I can wait that long. I was really super manic on Saturday and Sunday and crashed yesterday and I feel worse than anything today.

I have a son who needs to get driven into preschool and a husband who needs to be driven to work. I'm basically the taxi driver and cook around here. There is no one else to fill in on these duties and I can't bear the thought of my son not going to preschool or my husband possibly losing his job because he can't get to work.

Help!

I'm rooting for you! For me, driving calms me down, every single time. Maybe you should give it a go, but only if you feel, you're up for it!

I would cook and freeze meals for a week. Your husband can put them in the oven to heat. A lot of preschools have buses and can pick up your child at daycare and drop him off there given you husband not working an odd shift. If anything your husband can take FMLA if he does not have sick leave or vacation time but I think daycare would be cheaper.

You are a vital to your family but you can't do it sick.

If you aren't in danger of hurting yourself or another person I see no reason why you can't just wait.

Just my opinion.

Personally I only go to hospital when I am a danger to myself. Its not much help if Im not, it just makes it harder to get back into a real life routine.

Miguels mom has some great suggestions.

Is there a friend who can help transport your child and/or husband? Get some pizzas, cereal and spaghetti and have hubby make them. You're the only one who can really judge (unless you're a danger to yourself or others then def go, do not wait). Wishing you the best

Maybe you could call the Crisis Hotline (1-800-273-TALK)? It may help you get through to Monday. I wish you the best!
