Hi all

For years now I get up in the night, maybe two or three times. I don't have a problem getting off to sleep, although last two weeks I have (due to anxiety) and doc put me on dapazipan 5mg to take before bed. I have one of these left now, short supply as they are addictive, but even on these I have still woke up twice in the night! Am due to see my doc tomorrow for a review.

Does anyone else have this problem, I am BP2.

I've experienced this, even joke that I just may get a longer sleep at times without the meds., sure they help me fall asleep faster, but I wake a few times, even waking up wanting to eat something, "sleep eating", I've shyed away from the sleeping pills unless I really have a problem.
I find Ativan, helps me, even though it isn't a sleeping pill, but an anti-anxiety med. Again, I only use "as needed" and plus pdoc's do not give you much qty per refills, soooooooooo I stretch out using them if I'm having a bad week/month.
Hope all goes well with your appt. I have mine today, I go once every 2 months for med monitoring.
Take care,
DE

I was taking Xanax to help me sleep, but I recently went through a period of hypo mania where I was only sleeping about 4 hrs. a night--not good for people with bipolar--so my meds provider put me on Trazadone. I'm waking once or twice a night so she may have to increase the dosage when I see her next week. She said she wants me drugged enough that I will sleep a full night since the hypo mania led to a bad depression.--Suzy

Hi Suzy, this sleep deprivation is not good. I take a long walk every day now, although couldnt go out the house for weeks have now felt a little better and breathing in the fresh air helps and I was hoping it would with sleep but not for me. I will also ask doc about Xanax tomorrow as well as what DE suggested, thanks
