I don't know. My best friend mentioned she thought I was having a "relapse for the last three months".

Ok I admit i mastered the art of sustaining mild hypo mania for ages, like a few months which I wouldn't call a relapse but the ultimate aim. To which my friend said "you do know what bipolar is don't you?"

But lately I've been getting all bluesy and anxious but not real bad, like 3/10 sad but it's been hard to work etc.

So I thought dammit I'll just get drunk and did, and then because I was a bit drunk skipped my crazy pills and now I feel better than I have in ages.

Half of me says, are you crazy, take your medicine and go and see the dr.

The other half of me says he'll think you are making it up and are doing this, like making myself depressed, on purpose...

what to do?
.?

First of all, I have to say what a bad idea it is to skip your meds and get drunk instead. Just because you don't take your meds one time doesn't mean they aren't still in your system which makes it dangerous to get drunk.

Next, I think your doctor will not think you are making it up and making yourself depressed on purpose. Take your meds and go see your doctor. You may need an adjustment to your meds.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Skipping your pills and drinking is askingn to crash sooner or later. I just was in the hospital from my meds not working. Went manic. And I wasn't adding alcohol on top of it.

I also agree with what gayleggg said.

Thanks guys

I am all over the show I think.

My friends have all told me I'm a bit high tonight.

I hate that the only time I feel like me, everyone says I'm high.

Now I feel ok I think the doc won't think I'm making it up too. I want to tell him I'm cycling like crazy, but at the same time it's ok and I'm not willing to take more drugs, so might as well roll with it.thanks for your support.

Suggestion: start documenting your moods. Learn your trigger points so you know instinctively what hypomania and depression look like. Find behaviors that strongly indicate depression and hypomania. Use these as guides to tell you when its important to be responsive and see the doc. It will also help your doctor inbetween these major episodes if they understand those trigger points so both of you are on the same page. If you document your mood you can use it as a basis for discovering those quirks.

When you start to feel mildly hypomanic tell your pdoc. Do -not- let him medicate you for it. Instead use the trigger points as a guide and keep in contact with him if the mood escalates. Honestly mild hypo should be fine. When you understand your trigger points you will be able to see yourself go up/down and learn preventive measures...one of which is contacting your provider. This is a process but can help minimize the need for 'extreme' intervention.

This is for future reference and may not pertain to current situation. If you are concerned you should talk yo him/her
