Hi Everyone! I'm new here.
I was diagnosed with bi-polar about 6 months ago. (Although I've been fairly certain my whole life this was the case.) I'm 31 and work in Insurance. My moods continue to be unstable despite my meds being increased/changed. I'm currently on Lamictal - has anyone had any success with it?
I feel constantly irritated like I want to jump out of my own skin. My moods change so frequently that I have a hard time even keeping track.

I went to the DR. because my friends always joked saying that I must have ADHD. I came out of the DR. with a diagnosis of bi-polar. I'm always fidgety, feel like I have 30303 ideas at the same time & I'm usually extremely irritated. I'll get an idea like "lets go to law school" or "lets write a book".. and maybe even start that idea and never finish it. I can never sit still or concentrate for a long period of time.
My friends & partner always complain/make fun that I talk so much and so fast.

I tend to be very paranoid which causes problems in most of my relationships. I'm hoping to find the right support group/ combo of meds that will help me. I go from loving someone to being angry with them for no reason. When I'm "down" or "angry", I cannot control it.

I'm glad I found this forum - I look forward to chatting with you all!

Lamictal has been very helpful for me with depression -a lot of people here seem to be helped by it, without too terrible side effects.

I don't know if you're in therapy, but it could potentially help with the irritability and anger, which sounds like one of your principal concerns. No doubt and understandably it feels completely out of your control, but a good therapist may be able to help with coping strategies so that it is stopped in its tracks before getting too fierce. Alongside working with your pdoc on medication regimens, strategies learned in therapy can often help with what medication alone cannot fully eradicate.

Welcome to PC!

Thank you so much everyone! I am going to see a Therapist - my Doctor is going to refer me to one. I just feel all over the place and my mood changes at the drop of a hat. I have all of the symptoms of bi-polar (which I've been diagnosed with), but I also feel I have a majority of the symptoms of Borderline. I know these often get mixed up but after reading through all of the stories here - I am glad to find people I can relate to.

I hope you can find a therapist who specializes in BPD -that would be ideal if you feel you have traits. If you're super-lucky, with some work in therapy, some of your day to day mood dysregulation may improve, and you'll be left with the more long-standing moods, which medication may well help you with. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.
