Just an observation, all my life I've had weird dreams, like about being part of a movie or caught in a tornado or super huge ocean wave. At least when I described them people would say ''that's weird". This is way before bp and meds.

Anyway, sometimes you hear that a psych med might make you have abnormal dreams. So do you suppose my dreaming two nights ago about buying plastic containers from kmart or trying on shoes from my closet constitute 'abnormal dreams' for me since they seem like such normal activities?

I do have to add, I also had an ocean wave dream the other night but it was half ok, I found myself caught in sand with Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance

I figured out my natural disaster dreams are connected to my anxiety. Still dont know about those plastic containers!
Thanks for this!

Thanks for that lol - plastic containers at Kmart too funny. The other one is good too.
Do you lucid dream?
Long boring dreams are the weird & bad ones for me. I was dreaming about counting coins the other day & woke up saying the numbers out loud. 130+130=260 derp...
And thinking what a boring waste of my sleep & dream time.
I've had a lot of "bad" dreams about ocean waves ... Water is supposed to mean emotion. But some of them felt pretty real like a memory.

Abonormal dreams are pretty normal for me, since as long as I can remember. I have dreams about being a carnie or a bounty hunter, stuff like that. I have lots of frustration dreams that will be lucid towards the end. It leaves me with a lot of anxiety when I wake up, not so good.

maybe your dream suggests you are feeling disorganized and the plastic containers can help you get organized somehow. also, maybe you were trying on shoes to see if you could consolidate your closet (as part of the organization process) by keeping the cute/comfy shoes and donating the others?

Clearly, I have an elaborate imagination, and my dreams follow suit. Although mine are odd, they are also wildly detailed and vivid, too.

I have had abnormal dreams my whole life, as well as some reoccuring abnormal ones. Actually, almost all my dreams leave people wondering what I ate the night before. I've dreamt about being on a field trip to a volcano that explodes (recurring) or being in an apocalyptic world with rabid dogs and stuff. Very interesting. Perhaps collect all the dreams you can remember in a book - could make you rich someday! Lol

I had natural disaster dreams as a kid as well, tornadoes were my biggest fear growing up. People always found this very strange.
I was recently put on topomax, and the dreams I've been having are extremely vivid. It's very weird when this happens, I guess I've forgotten cuz it's hasn't really been this bad since I was a kid.

I don't seem to remember dreams as much as I used to but when I do they are very vivid. I have had a lot of dreams about tornados. Although just the other night I had a dream about stumbling home from the bar in the dark wearing nothing but a pair of stiletto heels. Figure that one out

My most noted "abnormal" dream was one that took place only over an 8hr sleep cycle, but the time in the dream was exaggerated to several months. I was placed in a hospital room, told that I had a terminal disease, and was essentially waiting to die.

I was left completely alone in this room for several months; not one person visited me or contacted me. I eventually ended up (in the dream) expiring, and upon doing so I awoke into the "living world" where I was informed that it was reality.

I managed to turn sleep into an enemy after that night, which probably led to the next manic episode where I did not sleep for several days afterward.
