My memory was never a prodigious one, except when the subject/thing was really important and interesting for me, but lately it seems my memory's getting weaker, and I'm not talking about those moments when I stand up, get out of the room and forget the motive - no. I'm talking about school-related things, like studying for a test, because this is my newest problem: I forget about them. My mother would say that I am not truly interested in them, but that can't be true, because I've never forgotten that I was going to have a written test the next day(s), never. I'd put the book on my bed, put on some music and search the internet for a while and simply forget about the book.
Is there anything I can do to improve my memory at least a bit? I'm used to forgetting things, what I don't want is to get used to forget important things too...

I agree you should talk to your dr if its becoming a problem, it could be down to stress or if your worrying alot about something, its best to talk to a dr though they will be better qualified to give you some advise

My memory is shocking and it distresses me. I've told my doctors heaps of times but they havent expressed any concern. One of my pdocs suggested I was dissociating, which does happen occasionally but not all the time so that cant be the reason for my terrible memory.

I lose things in my house all the time, my house is one room! I just forget where I put them.

My psychologist told me almost a year ago that I thought I was hearing some voices at night because my mind isn't busy, and same goes with my bad memory, but I just can't agree with him! What was he expecting from me, to be 24 hours a day reading or socializing with uninteresting people about uninteresting things?! My memory's busy enough, thank you. I'm always thinking of something, even when I am supposed to be studying.
I strongly hope the psychiatrist won't tell me the same bull...One of my biggest fears is I'll get Alzheimer's
