Hi,
chicken and egg question. I get very inattentive then stop sleeping, then relapse.
Is it a sleep problem or bp 2?
I took sleeping pills and am on holidays from work and back to normal.
Does your lack of sleep precede hypomania?

For me the not sleeping happens before the mania kicks off. I think it is part of my bp2, not a sleeping problem

before I go bat poop crazy, I don't sleep. Sometimes for 36 hours maybe more. Then all poo poo breaks loose and I go schizomanic.

Just before my last
"breakdown-->breakthrough," I had insomnia. I could skip a night, here or their easily. It got shockingly worse, turning into hypo mania then serious suicide attempt and a few days inpatient which helped a ton.
I have no idea if this is usual for everyone but it's typical for me.

I've read that depression is often a time when people will wake up early like 3 or 4 am, and some ppl spend the whole day sleeping or in bed. When manic I can't stop the thoughts enough to get any quality sleep.
