I can do it from home for only four hours a day. But if I was really manic and not sleeping don't you think the customers would be able to tell on the phone? That's why I was also considering medical billing and coding.

You can do it. I've been bipolar for years and I'm a social worker. Sometimes my clients could tell if things were amiss, but never to the extent to where it got me in any trouble. It depends on what your manic episodes look like.

Really depends yes, but I wouldn't say its undoable at all.
I worked in CS for a year and when I was up, I was extra cheery and bright. The epitome of sunny disposition. *vomit face* lmao Clients loved talking to me on the phone, my smiley voice made me sound willing to help and I got excellent reviews. Even the grumpy ones find it hard to yell at a chirpy person offering to go the extra mile for them. I was way more productive too and helped a lot more clients than usual due to my mutli-tasking super powers that kick in during such times. On the flip side, when depro, I'd fake the nice helpful voice until it was over, then go smoke a lot of cigarettes and cry into my pillow. I doubt your bp will interfere especially given the fact that you work half day AND you're in a safe environment. Its a sweeet deal getting to work from home and for so few hours. That's a bp friendly job if ever there was one (in my book anyway) and its something, I'm working toward right now, although I would personally prefer more hours.

I'm not sure. Sometimes. Sometimes I sound OK. Sometimes I sound like a crack pot.

On that same note, you should really incorporate good sleep hygiene. Sleep deprivation has never helped anyone.

You're acting as if I do it on purpose. Anyone with true bipolar I will go without sleep during a manic phase, often for days. Sometimes that even happens when I'm on medication.

Please don't pull the "my bipolar is truer" then your card.
Trippin is trying to be helpful and gave a good advice. Aside for being on medication... what are you doing for your sleep routine? Sometimes deep meditation can to a degree substitute sleep if ya can't get enough. And as for being able to tell if my answered didn't sleep... I think that's impossible. Unless you know the person well, you cannot tell. Unless you are painfully slow and out of it, it shouldn't be much of problem for the customers, imho.

![]() Uhm yeah, I know WE have sleep problems, that's why I SUGGESTED good sleep hygiene. Maybe research the term sleep hygiene before you presume I'm attacking you. I never said you deprive yourself on purpose, I never said your bp isn't true (FTR I have no idea what true bp is, last I checked you got it or you don't) sooo yeah, again I have no clue what you're on about. If there is any "acting as if" in our exchanges, I would say you are "acting as if" you have a guilty concience regarding sleep deprivation. *Just saying. No worries, I will refrain from trying to help you in future, because I certainly don't volunteer my time here in the hopes of being accused of I'm still not sure what.
