I did a little bit of retrospection today, and I noticed my depressive phase is more common and worse in winter. Is there anything I can do to make it not so bad?

I am much more down in the winter, even though right now I'm stable. I hate the cold grayness of it. Especially this winter. We're looking at more snow for Thursday which I am just totally sick of...anyway, I have a happy light that I use sometimes. I haven't used it consistently to be able to tell you if it works well or not but I did enjoy it last time as it felt warm on my face like sun does. Worth a shot. And my mom said tanning really helps her in the winter time because it's mimicking sunlight but there are other health concerns with that so you'd have to choose for yourself whether to risk it or not.

Isn't that called seasonal affective disorder? My dad has MDD and SAD, so he gets more depressed in the fall and winter, too.

Turn on the heater, lol! It is pretty standard, besides i read somewheres that we need to get the direct sunlight for vitamin replenishment and apparently in winter its much harder to get.
So stop, think about some good things in winter to do... i personally, prefer a warm drink (be it corny...like coco or harder like scotch). Download a few movies and cozy up under a blanket or read or something.
Personally, everyone hibernates in winter. It's a necessity in my eyes.
