Hey mate, I was wondering how you were going. I have never found any med to help with intrusive thoughts. The therapy options are not as helpful as I had hoped. Weed did help me not to care about them - but this is not a long term option. Your prozac dose is quite low so that may help if it is upped.

My intrusive thoughts have gotten to the point of needing a med change now too. Apparently Clomipramine has been known to cure OCD - or so my pdoc and research tells me. Thats my next option.

Did you end up getting admitted or are they treating you as an outpatient? Im sorry you are so distressed by this

HI HelpMe, trust me you are not alone, my thoughts are different, I imagine that my daughter has been in a car accident and that I see her bloody body or that my dog runs into the street and gets hit by a car and crushed. Terrible stuff. I take Latuda, Lamictal, Trazadone (for sleep) and Atavan as needed and just getting better sleep alone is helping. I still have these intrusive thoughts, just not as much. Intrusive thoughts are the pits. I hope yours get better!

Latuda (I take 20mg) has been life changing in decreasing intrusive thoughts for me. It's expensive but the manufacturer has 2 different programs to choose from to help pay for it.

It's supposed to be for the depression part of BP but it helped me in almost eliminating the intrusive thoughts rather than improving the depression. However, reducing the intrusive thoughts help with mood...
