I've been seeing my psychiatrist off and on for 9 years. Today was the first I left thinking this isn't the way I pictured our session going. I felt lectured and like a child in trouble. I resigned my teaching position, I'm in between jobs and have left myself without insurance. She wasn't happy about all of the above. I know I'm in a pickle but I was expecting more support. Not all how I pictured feeling coming out of the session. I hope I can get past it and not hold a grudge. She has always been supportive till today, it's just not what I needed.

im sorry that your pdoc was not more supportive. I have had that experience more than once. I have learned not to count on them to feel better about myself. hope you get back on your feet again soon. take care.

They are suppose to help you face your issues. Not point them out and make you feel worse. I didn't say anything to her about it because I was half in tears, but when I see her again I'm going to say something about it. If you're not helping me what's the point of seeing you?

I'm on short term disability right now through my teacher retirement system. She suggested calling them and taking insurance through them even if it's only temporary until May. So I did call yesterday and I'll be filling out an application. I just could have done without the crappy feeling after seeing her.

I've had that happen before too, and it sucks when they make you feel worse. Sorry that happened to you. I think sometimes my pdoc has an off day, and says things in an insensitive way, but i don't think she does it on purpose. Still sucks though

My PDoc isn't the nicest in the world.... Our last meeting went something like this:

"Doc, I got fired again. I had a blow up"

"You need to learn to control yourself!"

"No kidding, why do you think I come here?"

"You have to teach yourself!"

"......... Huh?"

Yeah, I'm looking for a new doc
