This feels like a weird question. I know that sometimes people can have generics where different manufacturer's product can affect them differently (My ADD med is that way; one is completely ineffective, the other is fine.) But has anyone ever had nausea as a problem in this situation?? I didn't even think a thing this morning about starting it (which is so unusual for me), but a short while later, I was hit with a wave of significant nausea (then a bit of lightheadedness, but it's possible but unlikely, that could be a panicky thing related to 'what if it is?' recent med aquesition (whoa! spelling bad today) difficulties)). I couldn't imagine why the nausea, as nothing was unusual. Then I realized I'd started the new (to me) manufacturer's generic today and taken it not all that long before (probably 1/2 hour tops). I've taken brand and 2 different generics of it (Lamictal/lamotrigine) before with no problems. I tend to think of manufacturer problems being more in the effectiveness/ineffectiveness and behavioral realms.

Sorry, particularly disorganized thinking today (before taking meds too). Long/short… anyone else have nausea as a result of taking something from a different manufacturer of a given generic??

p.s. I ate some boring food to try to quell it. Not sure if that's working yet.

Same thing happened to me. And i still feel sick, they changed it two weeks ago.I wonder if its just the lamictal change causing these side effects or if its happening with other meds too.

I had nausea with Trazadone but when I switched to the generic I didn't have the nausea, however, it didn't work as well either.

I had it with Prozac. I went from brand name to generic. I felt like I was on he verge of vomiting all of the time.
Went back to brand name, and was okay

They changed your generic lamictal maker? Or the dosage too? Did they change or adjust your other meds at the same time? (I always wonder why any prescriber does that. How could one figure out what is causing what?!) Two weeks, huh? I hope that mellows out for you very soon!

Boo hiss on trade-offs! Were they able to adjust the dosage up so it could do as well, or did you have to go back to the brand name?

That's an awful feeling. Fortunately, it wasn't quite that bad, but when I laid down for a bit, I did wonder if I should bring the bucket along(!) Turned out alright in regards to that.

Will do! It probably does. I think that's why it struck me so strangely -- I mean, been on this roller coaster for quite some time and try to be well-informed, yet couldn't recall reading about physical symptoms from different generic manufacturers(!) Maybe it just didn't register on the ol' brain cell.
A little bit nervous about tonight's portion of the dose (I do am/pm), though better to be at night. If it goes well, that'll help apprehension about tomorrow morning's, since it'd be right before work, and that would be no fun.

Fingers crossed. I'm pretty tolerant of adjustment issues, but nausea (especially in tandem with lightheadedness) makes me rather agitated and anxious, and there's quite enough of that already(!) Thanks, guys -- that's a state that's hard to think straight in and it's a comfort to know you all are there in such a time.
