I opened up to some 'friends' and am now being treated very badly. Some think im too nuts others told me to get a job and I'd be fine. One was trying to make fun of me to impress a girl (guys in his 30's) im very manic this weekend and had a few drinks so I made a point of letting everyone know what he was doing and let him know that he ca t embarass me bit I can make him look like a right ****. I'm part of a martial arts club and we're at a course for the weekend. These guys always talk about brotherhood and supporting each other. Not the case with me because I speak up. They think my condition is a joke. Worried because I love training its very positive but the response I've had has made me realise I may be best leaving. I dont need heat from a bunch of guys all with there own bs and antics I dont appreciate. I always try to be supportive and accepting of people. Is it too much to ask for the same in return? I tried to explain how difficult it is for me to be around so many people and im not like all them. Got told to get over it and be more like them. Some friends eh? I miss solitude at least nobodys was a **** to you there.

Not what I would call friends. They sound like they have their heads up their asses.
Thanks for this!

I still agree with the above posts but I'll take a different stance for the sake of variety...maybe they just don't know enough about it. I know of I told people about myself they wouldn't get it...so maybe I would try a different way in hopes of getting through to them.

Tell them how you feel...I would really hate to lose friends. (mainly cuz I don't have any lol)

Some people are more afraid to speak up or be themselves than other people are...

That hit the nail on the head.

Try not to be too angry at them. I realise it's difficult. But it's not their fault that they're uneducated and ignorant to the facts of mental illness.

Tell me about it. I'm a former US Marine. Supposedly a "Band of Brothers"...... Yeah, I was never "in".

Try to find some new friends. I wish you the best of luck, because I haven't had any
