My new psychiatrist wanted to put me on Lithium - which I refused. Instead he put me on Tegretol which has lifted the depression but made me manicy.

I'm sure he's going to try and convince me to try Lithium but I don't want to gain a huge amount of weight.

400 mg Lamictal
300 mg Seroquel
200 Topamax
6 mg Klonopin

been on lithium like 5 months.

no weight gain.

Never mind - I found out its for mania. I guess he didn't hear me when I said I'm always depressed and only hypomanic occasionally

most recent blood level was .8, within target range.

no, I don't think lithium has helped me. Nothing has helped me though.

I'm always depressed, lithium kills the ups.

Lithium can be used for depression if you google.

It has been weight neutral for me .. Its a good MS in my opinion.

My 13y/o daughter just started lithium around a week ago, how long does it take to start to "work"?

I had no weight gain, buuut, I'm not the gaining type so I probably don't count.
