Has anyone had any luck with using metforim to control weight issues with aps? I'm on latuda but it makes me shakey and nervous. Risperdal works great for me. But the hunger is intolerable.

Never heard of anyone using it for that. Interesting.

I'm been on metformin for diabetes for several years, but it doesn't make me any less hungry now that I'm on 2 different APs. Today I ate so many tortilla chips and salsa that I scared myself. I call it the Zyprexa Munchies.

I have gained at least 20 pounds! I sometimes find myself emptying bags of chips and crackers, and other snacks all in one day that are suppose to last all week.

I take mirapex to prevent AP associated weight gain. It's been working for me, and there are no side effects. It's an off label use for the drug, so most pdocs won't know about it. Might be worth trying if you can convince your prescriber.
