Hello, I'm 47 bipolar, recovering alcoholic, female, a therapist by trade but currently unable to work much due to effects of bipolar. I feel such frustration, anxiety, boredom and low mood. I have a psych. for meds and no therapist as I don't have the money and because I'm a social worker looking for work I don't want my community to know I have this illness. So I am isolated.

I'm looking for support I think. I've read many stories here and decided to post.

Didn't know where else to post.

I can relate to working in mental health and feeling isolated by also having bipolar. I'm a nurse practitioner in mental health, and I worry about colleagues finding out. Plus I would like to be able to attend in person support groups, but I worry about running into patients, so I can't. I really can't access any in person resources other than pdoc and therapist. I find this site really helpful for peer support. So welcome, and I hope you find what you need to here too. Message me privately any time.

Hi, I talked with an MSW/nurse yesterday and it was helpful to know we too can have this illness. Its also hard to see that sometimes all the best techniques I relay to people do not work sometimes and I find this disheartening. Yes I would like to keep talking although didn't know how to respond pm ... toby

Hi and welcome. This forum has helped me feel not so alone. It's not a real live person, but sometimes I find that real live people are too much for me to handle anyway!

There are many very well-educated and experienced people who are here to help. You can say anything you want and you won't be judged. It's nice. I'm glad you found us.
