Do you guys ever just struggle with anger? Im fighting it. Everyday I am angry. It doesn't take much to piss me off. I don't usually stay angry for too long, but I can. And sometimes I am boiling over with anger.

I was taking topomax and had bad cognitive effects so my dr let me stop taking it. The shortly after Ive been having issues with mood and extreme anger and she wanted me to start taking it again at a lower dose. Well..the anger hasn't subsided at all. If anything it has gotten worse.

What could be going on with me? I have been hiding away and using excuses for why I need to leave or not be around people or so things because I have been so annoyed with people but Im at breaking point and on edge all the time just about.

I see my Dr on Tuesday. What do you think she will say??

I'd be surprised if she is upset with you. I would think she'd want to get some idea of why this anger is so strong.

I feel exactly as you described when I'm hypomanic which happens a lot because I rapid cycle with long bouts of depression. I've yet to find a medication that controls it but I will keep on trying.

I would think your doctor would try something else to stabilize your mood - not Topamax. Advocate for yourself and request something new.

Try to figure out what brings on your extreme anger. I know my irritability is due to my hypomania but the rage surprises me.

Good luck with your doctor. I totally feel for you.

Anger hasn't been an issue for me since I was diagnosed bipolar and treated with a mood stabilizer. They all have annoying side effects for me, but I switch from one to another when they become a problem.

MagicsMom is right--advocate for your needs. If your anger is hypomanic-based, your doctor needs to solve your problem. Topomax isn't the only mood stabilizer and it's the one with the most side effects for me.

Good luck and persevere!!

My niece wouldn't shut up so I threw(not literally) out the house to go play in the backyard then locked the door. My mother quickly opened the door while my niece was crying. I don't see what I did wrong. It's not like I hit her.

I've been on egg the past 2 days on top on my depression.

I get both angry and agitated the same time. This can last awhile. But when I am properly medicated, I do not have this problem. I think this is a type of hypomania for me.

I would ask your doctor for a change in meds.
