Every morning I battle my alarm clock. I have such a hard time getting out of bed. I get plenty of sleep, usually about 8+ hours so I know its not that. I think its my meds.

Does anyone have any advice about how to get up and get going in the morning?

Have something to get up for, even if it just a treat or your cat. Everyone needs something as a positive reason to get up in the morning.

I've tried putting the alarm clock (in my case, my phone) on the other side of the room, so I have to get up to turn it off. I can also make words come up on my phone screen when the alarm goes off, so every morning I read the words, "Do it for theatre!" because that's the only thing I'll get out of bed for.

You could have it programmed to the words: "Open your eyes. Open your eyes!" Like in the Tom Cruise movie Abra los Ojos.

What has always made me get up is one alarm beside the bed and another in the kitchen, so I have to get up.

Once up, the cats want breakfast, the birds need feeding, and I need to do some blue light therapy

If you think it could be your meds, you could try taking them a little earlier, if you take them at night. I've noticed that even taking them an hour earlier makes it much easier to get up in the morning.

I have hardest time waking up. Nothing helps, except coffee or guarana or some other natural stimulants.

I am on gabapentin only...which helps sleep, but even before gaba, I hated my alarms most days...except weekends when I woke up naturally...then it would be a craps shoot what my mood and energy level would be.
