hey folks could you answer a question for me? Does anyone with manic-depression often blurt out thoughts without considering someone else's feelings? (I do)

When I'm manic or hypo manic I don't have much patience so I have told some people off at work about mistakes they were making that were affecting my job--making my job harder & more time-consuming. Needless to say, that didn't go over too well. One of the women I told off said when I was perfect, then I could comment on other people. I told my husband what I said & he said I should aologize. I did. I wrote her a note & just said I had been having a bad day. Hard to watch the mouth when you are sure you are better than everyone else (a symptom of mania). She & I get along fine now, though. I've made an extra effort to be nice to her & pretend the incident never happened.--Suzy

Ohh yeah, that is why when I know I'm getting there, I just try to have as little as posible contact with anybody, and if i do, I don't get into any kind of explanations.

I can be a real ***** sometimes, and yes, it is more likely to occur when I am in a very irritable state. I am most irritable and likely to act out when I'm in a positive mood and I sense something attempting to disturb or interrupt that state.

When I'm in these moods I get extremely discriminatory and intolerant.

I get racist, age-ist, sexist, etc. I will hate someone for the kind of car they have, or I'll hate them for the way they appear in my rear-view mirror.

I will hate someone because I don't like the natural sound of their voice, or for their laugh, the way they walk. I can really hate someone for anything.

Again, you're not alone! And I don't hate you either. inconsiderate (me)

I think its when we feel so low about ourselves, that we can't possibly concieve that what we say could have any effect on someone else either negatively or postively...but it does and we need to understand that because it also helps "us" feel our own pains and pleasures.
