Could anyone else tell me if they have had experience with Saphris? I am still having trouble with anxiety attacks and almost cycling....its like watching a child having a sugar fix.....hyper the 4 hrs later flat...then hyprr again after another fix, not fun for me or wife. I have used valium for years on and off for anxiety/ muscle spasms...but as far as dependancy use two then none for a week.

I have had to, with docs ok not pdoc, been taking 2.5mg to 5mg diasipam (valium) when anxiety gets too much and has me spinning. Spoke with pharmacist last script and told all....she said I showed no signs of dependancy or addiction...yet pdoc is non committal. I am worried he is going to disagree and add mood stabilixer again such as lithium (he talked before) but had such bad experiences with stabilizers. My wife prefers the 'new' me on Saphris and valium over the old more stable and emotionless old me....

Anyone else had/ have some advice please Saphris and anxiety

Saphris really ****ed me up. It gave me the worst akathisia I've EVER had. Not fun.

Sometimes anti-psychotics can cause anxiety. I think you should definitely tell your pdoc about this.
Thanks for this!

Oh god, I totally understand that! It gives me really bad Akathisia as well. It got so bad I went to the ER. One of the weirdest things about that was (as oddly as this sounds) my brain was just as restless as the rest of me, and it's not like your brain can move around to make it feel at least the slightest bit better My pdoc didn't want me off of it since I was doing well so I take Benztropine.

Atypical is right. Sometimes AP meds can trigger stuff like that. It all depends on the med and the person. Kind of interesting since Saphris works as a mood stabilizer as well. But I've found psymeds to do weird things at times so I guess it doesn't shock me.

Maybe give yourself a little time? Either way I'd keep a good eye on your mental health. I generally say to most people that it's a good idea to tell your pdoc everything that's going on. So you might want to consider talking to him.

Thank you both for the feedback.....did you also get panic attacks/ increased anxiety/stress to point of pacing or being unable to complete a task and ending up with 20 unfinished tasks?

Yes, that happened to me. I was so anxious and I couldn't stop pacing. I couldn't finish anything I was doing because I was so restless! It was hell, I hated it so much. I felt like my insides were turning inside out.
