Hi!
I'm right there with you. BP and PTSD and a few others. I was in the service, though not in combat, and some of my PTSD is associated with what went on there. People, whether in a combat situation or not, are all affected in different ways by PTSD. I take a medication for the night terrors and it has made a significant difference for me. pm me is you think I can help or you have questions. ![]() |

Both types of bipolar have their own unique traits as well as difficulties. Bipolar type two often goes undiagnosed because it's assumed that they have depression and their episodes of hypomania are just them being "normal". I felt this way for a long time. This forum has actually helped me identify what symptoms of hypomania are and I'm able to stop and remind myself what's happening, even if I can't always stop it. I think this will be a beneficial place for you. Getting real here; I was sexually abused in two different periods of my life. The first happened when I was very young and it has since been aggravated by several factors: My mom having cancer, my dad's auto accident, violent bullying, etc. It's still something I struggle with every day, even with medication. I try to look up information on it sometimes to try to help myself but a lot of it is geared towards veterans. Not that it shouldn't, mind you - they need all the help they can get because they are often ignored and have a much harder time assimilating into society - but I also feel that there should be more information and helpful things for those who "get" PTSD from combat-related occurrences. We're here for you, and I hope you're okay.
