Hey guys,

I have a question for you all, that are taking Lamictal.

Well I read that therapeuthic dose is the one that's the most important and you should give it more time. Well when I was 1st diagnosed my pdoc said that when reaching 100mg I'll stay there for 8 weeks (but at my 5th week she increased my dose on 125) which isn't working better for me.

I am thinking of going back on 100 and give it more time as a mono therapy. Any ideas how long therapeuthic dose takes to it's full effect?

hugs to you all**

Helo, Cocinella. Pose you questions and concerns to your psychiatrist. We are not qualified to respond and speculation may be harmful

I wish you well.

100 mg usually isn't considered a therapeutic dose; it generally takes 200 mg or more to reach therapeutic levels. You still have to titrate up pretty slowly, and it does take a while to be effective. But the person best qualified to advise you is your prescriber; don't adjust your dose on your own. Best of luck in finding the right dose for you.
