I don't know much about bipolar. Except for the fact that antidepressants make me manic. My pdoc says that that's all it may be, but since I've had an interesting record of things it could be bipolar. He didn't say which type. He put me on lamechtal to try and see what happens. I wish this would get figured out. What does make a diagnosis of bipolar? How do I know if that's really what I have?

A lot of times going manic on antidepressants is a good indication that you may have bipolar disorder.

Have you tried keeping a mood chart? There are apps for this, but here is a printable one.

Welcome

Noone of us here can diagnosis you .. But you can read up on loads of information to see what applys to you personally .. Dont be concerned if it take a while for your doctor to diagnosis ... It takes time to know for sure if a patient is and what type BP I or BP II .

What is important now if for the doctor to treat the symptoms your dealing with .

Welcome to PC .. Hope you stick around and find the support you maybe needing

If you just went hypomanic (less severe than mania) one time ever, from drugs....not very clear. If you had more extreme MANIA, or you had more than one hypomanic episode, then most Pdocs are going to DX as bipolar.
