I know what elevated moods feel like and I've had them.
question 2: Is it possible I'm depressed because I miss the euphoria from mania?

Mania episodes makes you bipolar. Even without depression, although most bipolar people do experience depression.
Are you depressed now? I am not sure I understand what you are asking exactly.
