I'm currently taking risperdal but the weight gain is horrendous. Anybody on invega and what's been your experience? Is the hunger less than risperdal?

Thanks.

I'm interested to know as well. I just started invega on Thursday. So far I have no noticeable side effects but also no noticeable effects. I know it's too early to tell if it will be helpful. I expect it will because risperdal was helpful. But risperdal made me gain fifteen pounds in three weeks, gave me muscle stiffness, caused lactation, and killed my sex drive. So far none of that with invega but like I said too early to tell.

I'm starting the injection tomorrow I think, are you taking it orally?

I'm on risperdal still. Psych nurse said there was no difference in weight gain between invega and risperdal. But bc invega is longer acting, I think there is. My psych nurse has been wrong before so...

THAT'S THE DRUG FROM HELL !!!! I was on it last year and my muscles started to deteriorate. After several months, I couldn't walk without serious muscle cramps and pain. My pdoc wanted to prescribe an additional medication to block the pain. Instead, I flushed the invega and trashed the pdoc. Now, my life has returned to wildflowers and butterflies.
