Hello to you all!

Its my 3rd day on 5mg of Abilify and I guess I am doing oo.

Havent experienced any of those moments when I was simply me...but I also havent experienced any really bad episodes.

Still noticing lack of motivation,energy...and just don't want to go to work? Feeling lazy...
also I have lack of ideas...like my mind and body went asleep. Maxbe its still a side effect of Abilify. I mean my pdoc said I'll feel like I have a hang over...so maybe this is all normal that I'm experieng?

Cus I was never like this...like with no sense of responsibility. I hope this is a normal reaction. I have check up this friday so I will mention this to my pdoc.

If anyonr has some answers for me... please do share.

HUGS ***

I try to hold out for the first week on any new med because I know my body has to get used to it. The feeling of no motivation might just be your body trying to get used to the Meds. Hopefully by the time you see your doc you will have jumped over that hurdle.

I am not experienced with abilify, but I had a similar problem with seroquel. I just wanted to lay around, sleep and be a bum. No motivation, etc. I had to quit it, because my whole family is depending on me financially, so I have to be motivated and productive for us to survive.
I decided I was better off med-free and slightly wackadoodle, rather than homeless.

Hopefully this side effect fire away, but if it does not, you need to discuss this problem with your Pdoc and weigh your options.

I tried Abilify, but had the same reaction. I was sluggish and tired, couldn't focus. I decided that it wasn't for me.

Thabks guys for your replies.

i agree it's too soon to say anything. You can't know either smth is bad or good gor you.
i had a feeling of no motivation on 100 and on 125mg og Lamictalm the feeling was worse on 125 so i droped it on 100 again.
told all this to my pdoc and abilify could help me get the energy and mptivation back. The thing is i am an extremly ambitious person and having no ideas in my head...just fog...is weird and i dont like it.

but i think its too soon to tell either this is working or no. I have pdoc on friday but only in cade i feel worse. Well but i have some questions so i might go to her and ask her these questions. I also think i had those moments of feeling myself when only on 100mg of lamictal now i feel good...more calm and all....but not me yet. Its just weird how lazy i am?maybe its the med cus i only just started it and all this is normal at this stage.

i think i will go to that check up on friday.it can only help me.

hugs to you all ** you are the best

Finding the right meds can be a frustrating experience yet when you find what works it will be well worth it.

Hope you feel better soon.

Abilify has worked better for me than anything. I was very tired for the first week or two. I was going to bed at 8:30 or 9 PM, simply couldn't stay up. I didn't have much motivation either. After about two weeks it passed, and I'm much more functional than I've ever been.

3 days is not enough time to know whether it's going to work. Give it a few weeks.

Hello guys and thank you for your help!

I agree, finding the right meds takes time. It's not that I don't have motivation, I am just really drowsy, want to sleep and I have no energy though I want to do a lot of things but every little thing makes me tired.

TheatreKid I agree, I need to give it a couple of weeks. It's my 4th day today and feeling sleepy again, but I guess it's the meds. For sure.

I am keeping my hopes high. Everyone around me sees the difference of me being better. I hope I'm on the right track.

It took me at least three years to find a working combo of meds, and another several year to find what works well for me.
