I'm going back on zyprexa today, at least for now. I've been doing really well mentally-few sporadic hallucinations, but no mood symptoms. However, the insomnia and subsequent nausea is more than I can take. Plus, I also have a cold, and the malaise from that is magnified by the insomnia.

Gonna try to go off zyprexa later, when I can better afford to feel like I'm going to puke all the time.

I'm just curious.....why go off Zyprexa if it works for you? I was put back on it four months ago and almost immediately was itching to get off, mainly because I don't want to take 2 APs all the time. But there's one sizeable consideration here: the combination WORKS. I feel perfectly normal. My life is falling apart around me, yet I'm able to deal with it without being totally freaked out. And this time I didn't put on much weight, and my blood sugars didn't go out of control, and none of the other bad stuff I associate with Zyprexa happened. Bottom line: if it does the job, why mess with it?

From reading Secretum's posts... it doesn't seem to work so great.

I thought you went off quite fast. The withdrawals can take very long. The longer you taken the meds, the longer the adjustment to your "normal". Hence why is it better to do it under supervision and have some support network to latch on.

Can I please suggest to go see your doctor before doing anything? They need to be in the loop. I know you feel horrible and you want a fast fix, please do it healthy - your worth it and so much more. Motion sickness pills are awesome too and peppermints. Infact I have both in my med. cabinet right now. That way when someone isnt feeling good they can help themselves.

Ginger works really well for nausea, too. A chemo patient told me about it years ago. I keep some with me all of the time.
Thanks for this!
