Hey guys,
as for those who don't know cyclothimia is mild BP. My questions is for those that might take AD's for possible anxiety that goes with BP. I read it's a pretty common condition, if your BP you have anxiety disorder as well, but you an't treat it with AD since it can trigger mood swings. Any positive stories about BP meds plus AD's? Please do share ![]() ![]() |

Hi Cocinella, for a long time I was on AD alone (Prozac and Wellbutrin) with no mood stabilizer. It was pretty great for me and helped stop my panic attacks and anxiety attacks at the right dosages. It wasn't until more recently that we added the Abilify to take the edge off my irritability and anger. For me the "up" of bipolar manifests as very harsh anger and irritability, out of proportion with the situation, agitation, beating myself up in my head.
From the literature that's out there I know you are not supposed to take AD alone being bipolar. I can't say that I had an extreme manic episode while on ADs with no mood stabilizer. I will say though that there may have been some mild/moderate stuff related to spending money and inappropriate conversation. Good luck with your situation.

Hi Love and thanks for your experience
![]() Yes I am just thinking out loud what might be done. Puting me on AD would be risky, since Zolofit made me cycle tremendously, and Paroxetin would put in in mania if I'd stuck with it... This anxiety is really getting on my nerves, so I hoope Abilify might help with that. I will know more on 26th August...it's still a long way till then, which I hate, but somehow I'll have to manage till then... ![]() |
