Your Smartphone Will Soon Know If You Have Bipolar Disorder http : // techcrunch. com/2014/07/24/your-smartphone-will-soon-know-if-you-have-bipolar-disorder

So are you guys excited about the app? I find it very interesting. I know that sometimes we can't really judge ourselves when we have the episode. It'll be good if an app can detect the episode and let the psychiatrist knows. Well, let's just see how the app will really work.

Tami

Pharmaceutical companies.

The app has nothing to do with meds though.

I think it's interesting, but I rarely talk on the phone. If it only monitors phone conversations, I wouldn't be able to use it. I already have a free text version of this app - it's called facebook. My friends can tell if I'm manic or depressed just by my facebook, usually. I wonder if it alerts your pdoc without your permission, too. I guess just using the app gives permission, but I wouldn't mind something that could alert me when I'm becoming manic WITHOUT getting my pdoc involved until I'm ready to involve her.

Yeah you're so right. Facebook! Though people who don't really know you will judge you there and think you're crazy. It happened to me before.

I just couldn't imagine how phone could detect an epi. But might be cause I use old old Nokia and I hardly ever talk on the phone (and if I do, I sound nervous) or even text. Now log it in Skype... you might be onto something.
