I've been away for a while because I've been stable. But I made a switch from imipramine to Cymbalta a month ago. Cymbalta helps the arthritis pain in my hands and back. However I'm now depressed. I spend 15 hours a day in bed and am isolating myself. Dies anyone else have experience with Cymbalta?

Sorry to see you lost your stability ..that always sucks. Can you go back on your previous med and try to find a new med for the pain?

Good luck

i took cymbalta a few years before my bipolar diagnosis.
i took it for pain as well.

i did really well on cymbalta and only stopped taking it because it was affecting my liver enzymes... (ALAT, ASAT and GGT) i only realise there was something wrong because i was so exhausetd all the time and my bowel movements changed color.
how long have you been taking cymbalta? do you have your liver monitored?
not saying that its your liver but its something to considder...

ETA: duh - 1 month... you said that. sorry.

I was prescribed it before my diagnosis as well. It pooped out on me pretty quick (6 weeks) plus I had the liver enzyme thing PLUS it was $200 a month so I gave up on it.

As far as cymbalta working for me I can't even remember. There have been so many meds between then and now. Sorry I couldn't be more help on that.

I was on Cymbalta a few years ago, and became dissociative on it. It was a horrible experience, I don't recommend it.
