I've spent the last year and a half on AP's. I went inpatient and had a complete med overhaul. I went from being on Abilify and Geodon, to taking neither one of them. I was then put on Trazodone for sleep, Cymbalta, Lithium, and Klonopin. I know that all of the meds haven't had a chance to fully work yet, and I had a bit of a rough day yesterday.
However, I had a revelation. I think my rough day was from feeling just normal emotions. It's been so long since I've just gotten upset and cried because of a situation and not an episode that I was afraid my meds weren't working. However, now I think that I'm just starting to feel again. My head is so much clearer since I've come off the AP's. I could just kiss my new psychiatrist. I think he's given me my life back. Even though I have a bit of depression still lingering, I feel good. I just had to share. I just want to say to everyone who still feels emotionally numb, keep fighting to find that right combo. It can be found. You'll know when you find it.
