Irritable, restless, feel like you can get on and do a heap of things at once, decreased need for sleep, wake up not feeling tired after less sleep, talking to people about all your abilities, doing dangerous things etc... Someone more knowledgeable than me could explain the difference in hypomania to mania, how I see hypomania, it is less severe and you usually don't need to go to hospital.

Are you safe?

Sometimes you're just incredibly happy and bubbly and are consistently on the go. Sometimes you'll take more risks that you would normally - like spending your money on ridiculous things, or going home with a stranger, or drinking way too much... those sorts of things.

I tend to be aware of what I'm doing, and take the attitude of "I don't care this is fun!!!!" but I will notice that I'm not behaving and thinking like I normally would. Hypomania doesn't always have a very big influence on your life depending on the severity.

Some of them are irritable, others are just like YAY HAPPY RAINBOWS! haha.

I have hypo episodes too and during them I get very very irritable, hot and bothered, I like to spend money and be out and about. My sleep personally doesn't seem to be so affected bcuz of my AD. Sometimes it feels soooooo good. Sometimes its really crappy. Oh and I occassionally go get a tattoo or piercings during hypo. One day I was supposed to be out grocery shopping but came home with pierced nipples! Lmao!!!

I have done some pretty embarrassing things while hypo. Once I got online and pretended to be a celebrity's secret girlfriend. I actually had people believing this! I also have developed "crushes" on people and followed them around to try and get their attention. These were people I knew and I never crossed the line into stalking, but am sure I was annoying. I wrote two novels ten years ago while hypo. I just re-read them and they r pretty good! LOL.

Cool. Apparently some of the worlds greatest artists have displayed bipolar tendencies, so I have read somewhere on the interwebs. We are gifted!

Let's see, I separated my shoulder on a fast three wheeler ATV. Then with my arm in a sling, I rode it again to have the same thing happen again. Both times I knew what could happen. I took ultralight flying lessons on a whim. Oooh, I can fly! I walked through downtown Chicago during midnight by myself through a really bad area that was having riots at the time. I thought that was interesting and entertaining!

Just to name a few off the top of my head. LOL

Hypomania is not less severe and yes hospitalization is important for us too if we're not safe. Im tired of people saying that hypomania is not as severe as mania. It sucks just as much.

Flighty thoughts, pressured speech, talking loud, overly friendly, restlessness, high energy, inflated self-esteem, impaired judgment

OR crappy hypomania

loads of irritability, anxiousness, impatience, antsy, restlessness, impaired judgment

I had a lot of fun but now I have to suffer the consquences of my actions. Next time I will hopely be more aware of it and have someone to be accountable to. I don't know maybe that might help me???

Impulsive ideas (often home improvements), wanting to drink and go out and party, flirting with men who are not my husband. The need for excitement at any cost.

I also have bouts of rage which one therapist said could be how my hypomania shows sometimes.
