Do dogs seem to seek your attention more then others? I seem to connect with dogs rather well.. they listen to me.. even just minutes after meeting. . I've been told this many times... my pitbull listens so well to me that I can make him mind just fine around any dogs. Cats whatever.. and he doesn't have much practice just in the moment.. he lays and stays by me non stop... and I gotta say I don't really give him the amount of attention he deserves but he's such a little boss... dogs around me.. beagles... all dogs.. they just look at me and have respect for me.. do other bipolar have similar situations with animals? Didn't know if that was common...... people don't understand yet they try... honestly I enjoy little kids and dogs more then 95 percent of people my age.. because they don't judge.. sorry for drowning on....

I love my Dog more than words could ever explain. He is my constant company .. When I am going thru the ups and downs of Bipolar he is attached to my hip. He often knows before I do that trouble is brewing .. I prefer my dog to most humans

Dogs read between the lines better then people. . And call me crazy but I believe I have a very good ability to read people for who they are... I have a pretty good track record. .. I think most people can't and . dogs . imo seem to be very good at it too

I think i have a special connection with dogs. Some cats, even a friend's betta fish there for a while. I think it depends on the dog - it probably helps if the dog is very intelligent and its regular owners arent! Then i think it recognizes a fellow victim or something. I lived for 3 years with my mother recently - in that time, i kinda tamed the neighbors pitbull, but i couldnt tame my mom! Its a good question - i feel like dr doolittle sometimes.

I saw a bumper sticker that said: My rescue dog rescued me.
I feel the same way

Both dogs and cats flock to me.....doesn't matter where I am, if there's an animal around, that animal will find me. I remember once when I was at a large outdoor gathering, someone brought their dog to the festivities and that dog plowed through what must've been 50 people, tail wagging the whole time, in order to get to me. I'd never seen him before in my whole life, but he acted like he'd known me since puppyhood. Weird.

I've come to believe that my own dog, Zoey, could be a service dog---she is SO attuned to me that it's almost scary. She's so intuitive that I think she senses an impending mood episode before I do, because she will refuse to leave my side except to eat and go out to do her business. She also stays with me if I'm physically sick, follows me to the bathroom and waits patiently outside the door till I'm done and then follows me back to bed. She's a good girl for sure.

Just cuz we cant explain it right off, doesnt mean there isnt an explanation. We just havent asked the right questions yet. This is such a cool story

They have been doing more experiments - i saw a tvshow where this dog knew so many different toys, by color and name, like over 300 or something.

My neighbor pitbull didnt just play hide and seek with me - he got his girlfriend to play with us too, totally fooling me. That was some complicated thinking on his part - holding her back until after i stopped looking for them, then jumping out of hiding. It touches my heart every time i think about it.

I have three little dogs and a cat that sleep right around me all the time. If I am on the computer or watching TV or asleep, they are there. I am very attached to them. They are the absolute best company.

My Dad had bp and he did wonders with dogs. He could pet the meanest, most vicious dogs around. Almost every picture I have of my Dad is of him and a dog.

I, too, get along very well with them, unless they bite and then I try to avoid them.

Yep its crazy. .. dogs aren't allowed on our bed or in our room... but my dog whines. . All he does is sleep under the bed exactly below me... I believe my dog can read me too (these things have been proven to some extent which I think is pretty awesome.. I definitely believe it.)

Never met a dog that didn't fall inlove with me instantly. Doesn't matter the breed or temperament, they just automatically like me, even the supposedly vicious ones come to lick me and wag their tales like lunatics.

Even cats, whom are notorious for being alien azzholes, they just love me. My brother got a kitten who immediately decided that he "owned me" instead
He's nearly 2y.o now and still only listens to me when I call him inside and prefers to sleep on my bed (unless he's mad at me for leaving home for too long)....

My mom said its because animals rely on pure instinct, so they can always instantly tell whom of us are the good seeds. Maybe our good seed characteristic they pick up on is our heightened empathy, since that's a very common trait among us...

Food for thought this thread, not goofy at all.
