When I was seeing a psychiatrist, they considered, but never quite labeled me as bipolar. This is probably because they never saw me before fibromyalgia slowed me down physically. But my new dr with medical house calls who comes to my home, really thinks that is true, and gave me a med that woulsd work for that, as well as several other conditions I had, so less meds. And I do fel very much better on that med, so I think he is right. He can not dx me as such coz he isn't a psychiatrist, but I really think he is right. Also, the quiz I took scored 45, so I do have bipolar, in all probability.

So here I am in this forum, hoping to talk with others and learn. I am Maria Angela, or screen name petralamb. I am 53, disabled with fibromyalgia, arthritis, lymphedema, migraines, and menopause problems. I am a Christian. I love music, Bible reading, reading, especially mysteries, crocheting, word puzzles and games, learning new things on the net, wildlife and environment...

Thank you all for being here. Hello: an Introduction

I posted earlier but forgot to say that I started being treated for depression in 1994. It wasn't until 2003 that I was properly diagnosed as bipolar and began proper treatment. Boy it has made a world of difference!!! Looking back, one of my pdoc's from about 1995/1996 was treating me with bipolar meds, but didn't tell me that she thought I was bp. She could have saved me many years of misery had I of known I was bp instead of thinking I was just having medication resistant depression. Hope things go better for you now that you are on a new med!!!
