I have Bipolar 2 and for the last month I've been Depressed with low mood, suicidal thoughts, loss of interest in activities. But I've also been experiencing lack of sleep, loads of energy, distractibility and racing thoughts. I've been having hallucinations and hearing voices too. Is this a mixed state?

We can’t diagnose but from experience it does sound like it. If you are on a antidepressant you might want to talk to your pdoc about going off that and replacing it with one of the antipsychotics that target depression

You can get hallucinations with depression. If you’re anxious it might make your thoughts sound like they’re racing. What antipsychotic are you on? Might be time to speak to your psychiatrist about your dosage.

I’m on Luraisdone 92.5mg but sadly when my mood changes I start getting severe nausea and start throwing up all medication. It’s been a month of trying to take medication with no success of keeping it down.

I’m not anxious at the minute so the racing thoughts ain’t due to that

I have BP2 with mixed states, including racing thoughts. Yes, be very careful with anti-depressants. They can send you up too high. I have never heard of hallucinations from bipolar's depressive side alone and Ive had this for decades. Im going to read about that.
I applauded Nammu's mention of antipsychotics because that might stop the hallucinations and voices. I think it might help you to do some reading about schizoaffective disorder because of the hallucinations and voices. We are all our own best advocates because we know ourselves best.

Do you have a prescription for Zofran? It is very effective against nausea and is even used to accompany chemotherapy treatment. It is easy to get a prescription so you might want to ask for it. Zofran is a tablet you put on top of your tongue and wait until it dissolves in the mouth. It is actually pretty tasty, which is unusual as far as medications go.

It sounds like one to me, and mixed states were very common in my bipolar type 1 illness. Do talk to your psychiatrist about it. There are medications that can help.
