The former is the opposite of euphoria with a shytloada hateful, so agitated you'll rip your hair out and jump out of your skin, manic energy.

The latter is "classic" depression with hallucinations, and or delusions, ya know, just to spice things up a bit.

They both suuuck!

Typically in a dysphoric state one doesn't have psychosis.

I'm confused because I always thought mania involved euphoria and doing impulsive things like spending lots of money. Can you get this without feeling euphoric?

One last question what is bipolar with psychotic features?

what is bipolar with psychotic features? It's when your in an episode and you get paranoia, delusional, catatonic or hallucinate. If it happens outside (hypo)mania or depression depending on the doctor will label it as scizoaffective bipolar type.

i have almost no euphoria at all with my mania... i equate feeling good with hypomania
i just get the restless aggitation and irratic behavior with some paranoid psychosis thrown in for good times.
its not fair

In a dysphoric manic episode the psychotic symptoms could include persecutory delusions instead of full blown delusions and auditory hallucinations, instead of full blown hallucinations. Psychotic depression is worse than dysphoric mania, since the symptoms are much more tormenting!
