I am on Abilify and Zoloft for bipolar. It is not taking away my mania episodes on a daily basis but it does take away my manic depression, I go from hyperfocused, running around like a chicken with my head cut off.......feel grandiosity and euphoria, then I might be normal for a few hours, then I get irritable and angry. Sometimes there is no normalcy in between. It is driving me nuts. Does anyone else get real hyperfocused and feel great, to getting angry and irritable? I do not know if it is mixed episode without the depression following (because of my meds?) or if it is just one manic episode. I have a apt in about a week and a half. I really still have no clue what kind of bipolar I have. My mania has been untreated for years, which may cause rapid cycling? I dont know Im not a psychiatrist lol. Any suggestions?

I was originally put on zoloft for depression, I was still very depressed with less mania symptoms then now, my doc threw me on abilify and it does nothing for my mania...........I have also wondered if the zoloft is causing me to rapid cycle

Definitely talk to your pdoc about it, a med change may be in order.

I'm not an expert, obviously. I think my depression has caused me to be angry and irritable in the past. Almost certain pdoc viewed it that way.

Any antidepressant wasn't good for me. It lead to what you are describing which lead to psychosis when I stopped sleeping. Definitely talk to your doc about it
