I went to pick my new prescription of Abilify and it turns out he prescribed abilify and geodon, on top of my zoloft and gabapentin...

Not what I thought he'd do...and I am nervous about the geodon -- I have heard some bad things about it.

Any one got works of advice?

Those are in a different class, they're atypical anti-psychotics which will help greatly with mood stability.

Geodon made me angry, I like Seroquel for an AAP, but Geodon is supposed to work great and it and Latuda are the only weight neutral AAPs. Abilify worked good at 2.5-5mg to augment my AD, but didn't really do much at a higher dose for mood stability...best of luck though!

Thanks -- I am gonna call and talk leave a message with my dr nurse tomorrow to ask about the Geodon -- it's not something we discussed so I got not real information or reasoning for it.

Figured it's smart to ask.

I've had the best experience with geodon. It has been a life saver for sure. It helps my ad and mood stabilizer work better together so maybe that's why they prescribed it for you? I've had zero side effects. You just have to have yr blood drawn about twice a year. I wish you luck!

I take Geodon as well. I like it because it's weight-neutral and I actually lost weight on it, at least until I went back on Zyprexa and regained some of that weight. You have to eat something fatty with the Geodon though; otherwise your body doesn't absorb it as well. I take mine with a spoonful of peanut butter, which is fatty but not ridiculous as far as calories go.
